Chartered Accountant and fractional CFO Jamie Young brings hands-on experience of the challenges faced by SMEs and PE-backed businesses, with a track record of guiding companies from startup through to successful exit. Jamie started in practice as a Director at Plus+ Chartered Accountants from 2010 to 2018, delivering comprehensive financial and commercial guidance to clients beyond standard annual accounting.

Earlier in his career, Jamie served as Finance Director and Consultant FD at Digitalbrain PLC, supporting a high-growth technology business through commercial scale-up, and has since grown a telecommunications startup from zero to £8m turnover in six years. He specialises in corporate turnarounds, raising finance and working with Private Equity-backed businesses, focusing on forward-looking, strategic financial advice rather than historical reporting.

Today, Jamie is Chief Executive Officer at Dugard CNC Limited, a major UK supplier of CNC machines for precision engineering, alongside running Independent CFO Limited — a part-time and consultancy Finance Director practice serving high-growth businesses in the Brighton area. He brings expertise in business planning, cashflow management, MIS development, organisational KPIs and accounting software implementation to clients across manufacturing, engineering, telecoms, technology and asset management.
