Risk, data and operational resilience specialist Clive Stainton brings an unusual blend of academic depth and practical experience to senior IT and consulting engagements. With an MA in Mathematics from Pembroke College, Oxford and a PhD in Expert Systems from Henley Management College and Brunel University, Clive founded Marionet Consulting in 1995 and has spent nearly three decades providing management consultancy focused on risk, data strategy and process engineering across financial services.

During his time at HSBC as Group Wealth Change Consultant, Clive led the Wealth Risk Framework implementation and global products range review as a Senior Programme Manager. He went on to serve as Associate Partner at Parker Fitzgerald, working as a specialist consultant on regulatory risk and data collection initiatives for high-profile financial clients including major global banks like Deutsche Bank.

Today, Clive continues as Managing Partner at Marionet and as Senior Advisor at Perimeter Group Limited, advising on operational resilience, cybersecurity and risk integrity. He is particularly distinguished for his ability to translate complex regulatory requirements such as Basel II and IFRS7 into functional data warehousing and reporting systems at scale — an ideal partner for financial services businesses navigating regulation, resilience or large data programmes.
